Safari Itinerary

Day 1 – Pick up from the airport
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a friendly staff member from safaris horizons will be there to welcome you. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey. In the evening, you will have a safari briefing, where our team will go over your itinerary, answer any questions, and ensure you are well-prepared for your adventure. Get a good night’s rest—your unforgettable safari begins tomorrow.

Day 2 – Arusha - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you will drive from Arusha at 7:15 am, to Serengeti which takes 8 hours (including all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Stop at: Ngorongoro Crater, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha Region
Duration: 20 minutes

Visit the Maasai village, its optional and many clients opt out. Explore the culture of the great Maasai tribe known for chasing lions off their kill, hunting lions to be considered a warrior, and drinking raw animal blood. Though these traditions are thing of the past with exception of drinking blood, you can surely learn something.
Duration is 20-45 minutes

Serengeti National Park
Arrive in the late afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (Central Serengeti) until late evening. Experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals, if you're lucky enough see a predator

Day 3 – Tarangire to Serengeti
After an early (6:30 am) breakfast, go on an early game drive to see a lot of animals till the afternoon. You'll then will head to the camp for lunch and packing. Do a game drive while you exit the Serengeti, heading to Ngorongoro serena lodge (2 hours drive) near the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Note; animals can be spotted on campsites.

Day 4 – Ngorongoro crater
After an early breakfast, we will descend the crater at 6:15 am on a journey to find the black rhino. Rhinos are the hardest to spot in the beautiful crater as most animals will be easier to spot from this park due to it being a crater floor. After lunch, you will do a game drive and ascend the crater to camp and pack for the trip back to Arusha town.

Day 5 – Kilimanjaro excursion
Be immersed in Tanzania’s great outdoors on this full-day tour to Materuni and Kikuletwa–ideal for adventure, cultural and active travelers in the region. Start off on a hike to Materuni Waterfalls and enjoy a refreshing dip. Next, head to a local farm to learn more about Tanzania’s coffee industry before finally unwinding in the Kikuletwa Hot Springs. then after all that you will be driven to Kilimanjaro airport.

The safari season in Tanzania is excellent year-round. However, the dry season (June to October) is best for game viewing, while December to March is ideal for calving season in the Serengeti. The Great Migration can be witnessed at different times depending on your travel month.
