Day 1 – Pick up from the airport

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a friendly staff member from safaris horizons will be there to welcome you. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey. In the evening, you will have a safari briefing, where our team will go over your itinerary, answer any questions, and ensure you are well-prepared for your adventure. Get a good night’s rest—your unforgettable safari begins tomorrow.

Day 2 – Arusha to Tarangire

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30am and after being familiar to the guide, chef we will drive to Tarangire national park (2hr drive) famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees & having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where they are reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetah & leopards as they are harder to spot) as herbivores (giraffes, wildebeest, zebras etc. are plenty to see through the park. Later on will go to the Tarangire river picnic site and enjoy the beautiful view of the river & animals while having lunch, small monkeys & baboons will try to scare you of your lunch but there is nothing to worry about After lunch will proceed with the game drive and will later head to our accommodation for dinner & sleep.

Day 3 – Tarangire to Serengeti

After breakfast, you will do an early game drive in Tarangire as you exit and proceed to Serengeti which takes 6 hours (including all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro conservation area. Will briefly stop at the gate and viewpoint to look at the breathtaking view of the crater for, a maximum of 20 minutes. Also, you will visit Maasai village, it's optional to visit and it will take 20-45 minutes. Entrance is 10usd. This is an optional visit not included in the price.

Serengeti National Park
Arrive in the late afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (center of Serengeti) to late evening and experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals lucky enough to see a predator hunting or on a kill, later heading to Seronera campsite.

Day 4 – Serengeti national park (Following the migration)

After breakfast, embark on a game drive through Central Serengeti before heading north, following the Great Migration. Depending on the season, witness thousands of wildebeests and zebras as they cross the Mara River, facing crocodiles and predators. Enjoy game drives in Northern Serengeti.

Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater game drive

After some breakfast, you will depart the lodge with a picnic lunch and descend into the amazing Ngorongoro Crater. When you arrive at the edge of the crater and take in the amazing view of one of the Natural Wonders of the World you'll be surprised. The crater of this inactive volcano is approximately 3 million years old, 20 km in size, and the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world. It is possible to see all of Africa's Big Five within the crater among a vast array of other wildlife including hundreds of bird species. You'll enjoy not less than six hours of game drives in the crater before departing and heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 – Lake Manyara game drive

A game drive in Lake Manyara National Park offers a rich and rewarding wildlife experience in a compact and scenic setting. Day 7 – Arusha City Tour & Airport Drop-Off

It’s ideal for solo travelers, couples, or small groups who want to experience the wildlife and landscapes without the cost of a private tour. You join other travelers in a group, share a safari vehicle, and sleep in tents at public campsites inside or near the parks.

Do I need to bring my own camping equipment?

No, all camping gear is provided — including tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, chairs, tables, and cooking equipment. Just bring your personal items and a sense of adventure!

What kind of meals are provided?

A private safari chef will prepare fresh, hot meals daily — including breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinner. We cater to all dietary preferences (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) if requested in advance.

The most flexible way of adjusting to the ever-changing conditions as you trek higher is the layering of several thin articles of clothing which you can add or remove as the conditions dictate.

Will we see the Big Five?

Tanzania offers some of the best chances to see the Big Five — lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino — especially in Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. While sightings are never guaranteed, your guide will do their best to track them down for you!

What are the toilet and shower facilities like?

Campsites usually have shared basic facilities such as flushing toilets and cold or occasionally warm showers. In remote areas, we may use portable toilets or bucket showers for comfort and hygiene.

Is the camping safari safe?

Yes, it’s safe. Our campsites are located in designated areas with ranger presence, and your guide is trained to handle wildlife encounters. You will be given a safety briefing on the first day.

What’s the best time to go on safari?

The safari season in Tanzania is excellent year-round. However, the dry season (June to October) is best for game viewing, while December to March is ideal for calving season in the Serengeti. The Great Migration can be witnessed at different times depending on your travel month.

Can children join this safari?
